Taken during KL TripThe first time I read this poem, from our national poet and literature writer, Usman Awang was during my early time at my hostel school, Sekolah Dato' Abdul Razak, but it just flaunted the first stanza. But it is enough to illustrate the idea, that teacher's role should not be disregard, nevertheless it's very role in elevating nation's mind. How I start to understand the engraved meaning. Sometimes, as a student, we don't fully heeded by the advise or concealed message through learning with teachers. If we do, we will not make the same, repetitive mistake. Due to our aging ego and ignorance, their words failed to penetrate to our thought.
As years passing and I am now in fourth year in the same school, each year only few teacher remain teaching in my class, and the new teachers had diverse way that set them apart. This year, I was quite touched with the efforts from them; but my appreciation fall short after while, with current busy and intricate life *sigh*. It seems I'm not a credible student for now, but I will seek room for changes and improvement, and to really express the gratitude, for them.

"Sejarahnya hanya dimulakan oleh seorang guru biasa,"
"Their history is initiated by ordinary teacher,"
Teachers, or Alma mater bequeathed much more than just teaching and giving us homework.
Our will be grand future, will be thanks to them.

oh and bear this is mind too,
even when you only taught a child how to brush his/her teeth, you are already qualified to be called a teacher. teachers don't only exist in academic areas, they're all around us. even you yourself might be one. it's just what we human don't realise.
